Caton Community Primary School
MOTION Dance Initiative provide dance teaching, training and consultancy within a range of settings across the North West of England. Our team have an extensive range of experience spanning a number of years, with a variety of specialisms including primary and secondary school teaching (with QTS), musical theatre, contemporary dance, choreography, chair based dance, Cheer, Break Dance, Arts Award (advisor status), and EYFS, amongst others.
We offer teacher led sessions in schools, care homes, community centres, gyms and businesses – anywhere promoting movement for well being. We also offer CPD training for primary and secondary teachers on how to effectively teach programmes of dance within your school, and curriculum consultancy to help you put an effective dance programme in your setting for years to come. With full schemes, lesson plans, resources and training to ensure outstanding continuous provision we can help you take your active school to a new, creative level.
Our core ethos is to develop health and happiness through movement across our communities, through passionate delivery based on outstanding planning. Drawing from the teams background, and a desire to make a positive difference, we also aim to actively develop socially inclusive projects working with older members of our community, LGBT+ groups and disadvantaged young people amongst others. Following the global pandemic we have extended our health and happiness provision to provide school staff wellbeing sessions as, along with many frontline workers, our teachers and support staff have faced additional challenges during the pandemic. These sessions include yoga, mindfulness, fitness, conditioning and dance fusion all centred around boosting the health and happiness of our valued educators!
If you have an idea for a project we may be able to help with, particularly if it links in with our core ethos, please do get in touch!
